Who Do You Write Like?
Ever wonder what kind of author your literary style echoes? I Write Like is a web site where you can enter a few paragraphs of your writing style and get an instant analysis of the novelist you best emulate. The web site was developed by a Russian, Dmitry Chestnykh, who is a software programmer living in Montenegro. The algorithm used to correlate your personal writing style with a famous novelist is mostly done by analyzing the word choice rather than punctuation, rhythm, or structure. Only fifty authors have been uploaded so far, so the comparative range is a bit limited. It’s fun, however, to upload writing samples and see what the computer spits back. This post? Apparently it’s written like H. P. Lovecraft.
