Could you live in a space under 400 square feet?

The Los Angeles Times has a pictorial on Kelly Breslin and Ryan Conder who live in an apartment that’s 380 square feet with their 9-month old baby.  With the average size of the American home growing, it’s always fascinating and educational to see how families live efficiently with less space.  Every square inch of the apartment is thought out for functionality, with some areas pulling double duty.  This style of living isn’t for pack rats or for those that just love shopping and collecting things.  For those wanting to embrace living in a restrained space, Claire Wolfe has an article on “The art of living in small spaces” where she offers a complete run-down on how to live small.  Likewise, the Small Space section on HGTV offers plenty of design ideas for homes under 1000 square feet.
